SENZO “Entrée” knife series

Senzo Entrée knife series can be a nice first Japanese knife. The feature of Japanese kitchen knife, the thinner blade edge, will amaze you when you cut and feel how smoothly the blade edge goes through the food. But sometimes, the blade edge is too fragile to deal with and could cause on blade chipping especially for the ones who are used to use the knife in western cutlery habit; chopping rather than slicing.

Senzo Entrée knife series are grinded and horned well just like the other knives of us. The three layers clad steel gives the wave pattern, or “Hamon” in Japanese, on the blade that looks the traditional Japanese Samurai sword. And in order to make this knife series affordable and available to many people, we keep the knife as simple as possible but yet maintain its sharpness.

3 layers clad steel with AUS-8 Japanese high carbon stainless steel for the blade.

The blade is made of 3 layers clad stainless steel. Japanese AUS-8 is placed in the center core that actually cuts food.
AUS-8 contains lots of carbon and it makes the steel harder. A Hard steel is essential for great sharpness and its durability. The both sides of the center steel are rust resistance stainless steel that protect the center core steel from getting rust.
This 3 layers stainless steel construction becomes unique blade design with the wave pattern appearing near the blade edge. It just looks like the traditional Japanese Samurai sword.
